Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Every child is special. And every child deserves to be recognized for what makes him or her unique. Now birth order guru, Dr. Kevin Leman, and his artist son, Kevin Leman II, offer parents the perfect way to tell their adopted child just how wonderful he or she is. A read-to-me children's picture book, My Adopted Child, There's No One Like You conveys love, acceptance, and a sense of individuality to adopted children. The combination of Dr. Kevin Leman's trademark humor and his talented son's artwork makes this book a wonderful gift.

Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars Please do not label children who were adopted   September 13, 2008

"My Adopted Child?" This is 2008. Since when do we label children who were adopted? They are "children who were adopted," not "an adopted child." Adoption is a verb, not a noun in my opinion. I would never call a biological child "my genetically similar child." Just the title alone is in poor judgement.

This book is a fantastic tool for helping your adopted child become comfortable as an adopted child. A fun Parent-Child read.

This is the cutest and most believable book about adoption for parents to share with their children!! I saw myself and my little adopted daughter in each and every page and we love reading it over and over again. The story line about the brown bears adopting a little panda bear was a fabulous idea and the illustrations are precious. I highly recommend this book to any adoptive family. Everyone in your family will love it and will see themselves in the story!
